Goals and Objectives

Goals

To provide the citizens within the District with a wide range of desirable leisure time activities, programs and special events
To promote and provide skill and leadership development programs in the District
To maintain the District's awareness of the many recreation opportunities available
To recruit, train and reward volunteers
To assist Parkland Sport Manitoba in the promoting of their programs and activities
To educate the District of the role played by the Department of Culture, Heritage, Tourism and Sport in regards to the Swan Valley District Recreation Commission
To maintain good working relationship with the Swan River Parks and Recreation Commission

To act as a liaison between the Department of Culture, Heritage, Tourism and Sport and the many Culture and Recreation Groups within the District
To utilize the District's facilities as much as possible
To research all Government grants both Provincial and Federal that may pertain to any or all eligible groups within the District
To be a grants resource person for the citizens of the District
To provide meaningful summer employment opportunities for the youth of the District
To remain in contact with the citizens of the District, monitoring their recreational and cultural wants and needs
To develop and repeat previous programming to meet the needs and wants of the citizens within the District
To remain on top of issues and changes relating to recreation within the province of Manitoba
